People I'd love to kill? Everyone.

—Rhiannon Lewis, "Sorry For Your Loss"

Rhiannon Lewis is a character on the Starz series Sweetpea. She is portrayed by Ella Purnell and also by Lottie Lee as a child and Amelie Bea Smith as a teen in flashbacks.

Profile[]

Rhiannon Lewis doesn’t make much of an impression – people walk past her in the street without a second glance. She’s continually overlooked for a promotion at work, the guy she likes won’t commit, and her dad is really, really sick. Then everything in her life turns upside down. Rhiannon is pushed over the edge and loses control. Suddenly the wallflower is gone, and in its place is a young woman capable of anything… Rhiannon’s life transforms as she steps into a new, intoxicating power, but can she keep her killer secret?

Rhiannon works at the Carnsham Gazette and is passed over for a coveted junior reporter position in favour of AJ, though her boss Norman, who initially coins her "Sweetpea," comes to respect her talents.[1]

History[]

"Sorry For Your Loss"[]

Rhiannon Lewis has been thinking a lot lately about the sad state of her life and people that make her feel invisible and she would thus love to kill. These include "manspreaders" who spread out the local newspaper, the Carnsham Gazette, in front of her on the bus, her boss at work, which is at said paper, Norman, for failing to acknowledge her potential and actually everyone at work for ignoring her in general and acting as if she doesn't exist. It is also includes her sister, Seren for moving away and her ignoring her texts, their mother for leaving them as a child and Julia Blenkingsopp, a bully who made her feel like a ghost in high school to the point of tearing out her own hair and having to wear a wig. There is also Craig, who had a one-night stand with her, only to then ignore her requests to see him again. Finally, there is her father, Tommy, whom she would kill if not for the fact that he's already dying, leaving her to deal with her problems on her own.

Rhiannon visits her father at the hospital, only to find him apparently dead. However, just when she starts panicking, he opens his eyes and sits up, revealing that he was only pranking her and had unplugged his machine. He tells her that she needs to stop letting people walk all over her, that they need to see her, how special she is. He tells her to be more "rahr." Hearing him coughing, however, she realizes that he really is not doing well. She tries to go get a nurse to get help, but is ignored. When she returns to his room, he is actually is dead.

Rhiannon travels to her father's funeral service with only her dog Tink. Her sister, Seren, arrives late, claiming that her flight was delayed. When the pastor incorrectly refers to Rhiannon as "Rhian" and she tries to correct him, Seren shushes her. At the afterservice, Rhiannon is stunned to see Julia, her high school bully, and annoyed when Julia acts as if she doesn't even recognize her. She is even more shocked when Seren reveals that she is planning to sell off the family home and has hired Julia, who has moved back to Carnsham, as the real estate agent. Rhiannon pleads with Seren not to do this, reminding her that she lives in the home and that Julia ruined her life. Seren, however, just brushes off her concerns, even telling her that she ought to visit SQR, the club where Julia and her clique hang out, and have fun with her.

Rhiannon goes into work, where she thinks to herself that she'd like to kill everyone there for failing to notice the hole in reception for the past 10 days and her boss Norman for treating her as a coat rack when he tosses his coat atop her upon entering the office. Squaring herself up, she goes into his office, telling him that she'd like to be considered for the junior reporter position that has recently opened up. To her annoyance, he calls her "Sweetpea," telling her that he really doesn't see her in editorial. She says that it's because she's not there yet, but like her father, he tells her that she needs to be more "rahr" and that she doesn't have a killer instinct. He suggests she try again when she does and dismisses her, asking her to take some papers to recycle out on the way.

Rhiannon returns to her desk, angrily stuffing the papers in the recycling. She uses a switchblade knife to open envelopes and is approached by AJ Pierce, who comments on the knife being a "serious bit of kit." He asks to see Norman and she tells him that he likes for her to call first, only for Norman to wave him on in. She mutters to herself, cursing and asking what she's even there for and overhears Norman complimenting AJ's mother. Norman then comes out with AJ, introducing him as the new junior reporter who will be working starting tomorrow and she realizes that he got the job because Norman is friendly with his mother, thinking to herself that he's a "nepo-baby." She angrily follows him out of the office and stalks him into the subway, startling him and making up an excuse about a form that he needs to fill out.

That evening, Rhiannon takes Tink out for a walk and receives a text from Seren telling her that she's serious about selling the house and is arranging a valuation for tomorrow. As she continues walking, she is stunned to see a billboard for Julia Blenkingsopp's real-estate agency, Badgertons, featuring a picture of her and the caption "WE'RE HOT PROPERTY." Her shock is so great that she unwittingly lets go of Tink and reverts to her old habit of pulling out her hair. She stares at the reflection of the bald stop in the glass of a bus stop shelter, only to her a crunching noise and a yelp from Tink, who has been run over on the side of the road, dead.

Rhiannon goes home and buries Tink. She calls Seren, leaving her a message pleading with her not to sell the house. She then gets angry, telling her that she doesn't want Julia there and that she can tell her to f--- off. She then declares that she'll just do it herself. She goes to SQR and confronts Julia, only for Julia to act again as if she barely exists. She tells her that she has to work it out with her sister. Rhiannon shouts at her, telling her she ruined her life and did it again, and she killed her dog, but Julia treats her as being delusional, telling her clique that Rhiannon was always making up stories and is probably just lonely.

At wit's end, Rhiannon stalks off outside in the rain to find a quiet, secluded spot to sit. As she tries to pull herself together, a man unexpectedly steps up next to her and takes a pee, splattering her in the process. She startles and he comments that he didn't see her, chuckling. As he starts to walk away, she kicks him. He curses and she shouts at him, asking "Do you see me now?" He turns and charges at her, telling her that he'll end her, but she grabs her knife and stabs him the stomach. He complains that she ruined his shirt and that she's in it for it now. He rushes her, but she stabs him in the neck, blood spurting everywhere. "Do you see me now?!" she shouts, stabbing him again and again. "Do you see me now?" she asks once more, smiling, but he is dead on the ground. She rises, considers her knife, and pushes the body into the nearby river. She then covers herself with her coat to conceal the blood and returns home, washing off what little blood wasn't already washed away by the rain at the sink.

"This Sort of Thing Needs Some Feminine Energy"[]

Rhiannon is busy cleaning off the remaining blood of her victim from her clothing when her doorbell unexpectedly rings. It's her one-night stand, Craig, and he has a proposal for her to purchase her father's business, Tommy's Transformations, but she is not into it and quickly dismisses him.

Rhiannon travels to work on the bus and notices a commotion at the lock where she killed the man. Arriving at the Carnsham Gazette, her boss Norman comes out into the main office, pleading with his staff for important news stories, and is disappointed by the suggestions of things like gas works and pigeon attacks in the town square. Just as he is lamenting the absence of Jeff, Jeff bursts into the door declaring that they have a dead body. Norman is thrilled and asks for details, but Jeff doesn't really have anything yet. Rhiannon, however, speaks up, saying that the man was murdered, that there were police there. Jeff points out that police being there doesn't necessarily mean a murder and she says that she heard people talking about it on the bus. AJ speaks up for her, saying that they ought to get more information now that they know something and Norman sends Jeff back out into the field.

When Jeff calls, Rhiannon pretends that Norman is busy, but claims that he wanted to get a name on the victim. Jeff gives it as Ryan Lloyd and Rhiannon ends the call, feigning interference on the line. She then looks up the victim's family and goes to Norman, telling him that they have a name and that she thinks that she ought to go and talk with the family. He is skeptical, but she swings it by telling him that it needs some "feminine energy." Norman, however, insists that she take AJ along.

The two of them arrive at the victim's home, where his mother is at first suspicious and tries to send him away. They, however, manage to talk their way in by telling her that they want to write a nice tribute to Ryan. Once inside, the mother tells them that Ryan was a wonderful person and that he had a nephew that admired him, even wanting to work in a call center because of him. Rhiannon, however, sneaks off to Ryan's room, as he had still been living with his parents. There, she discovers a restraining order saying that Ryan is not to establish a residence near Dave Ferris, have any contact with him, or be within 200 yards of him. She is discovered by Ryan's father, who doesn't speak, and manages to conceal what she discovered.

Rhiannon returns to the living room and makes an excuse to get her and AJ out of there. Once back in the car, she reveals the restraining order to AJ, telling him that they should speak with Dave, that it would be a good story. AJ is uncertain of this, given that the man is a murder victim, but agrees. They find Dave Ferris, who tells them that Ryan Lloyd had been harassing him. He tells them that it started small, silly stuff like hiding his things and sending his nasty links, but then escalated from there, even going so far as to intimate that he was a child predator, such that he had to explain to the police why he had pictures of his own children in the bath. Though Lloyd was eventually fired from work, he still did stuff like showing up at his home. Rhiannon tells him that the man was a bully, that she knows what that's like and that he can't hurt him anymore.

Before Rhiannon and AJ can return to the Carnsham Gazette, Rhiannon receives a text from her sister Seren telling her that Julia is coming to the home for a valuation and there's no need to be there. Not liking this and still having evidence she needs to clean up, Rhiannon gets AJ to drop her off at home. Throughout the valuation, Julia is once again condescending and dismissive of Rhiannon. Back at the Carnsham Gazette, Jeff is annoyed with Rhiannon for going behind his back, but Rhiannon presses for them to run the story of Dave Ferris being harassed, telling Norman that the Telegram, a rival paper would publish it. He gives in, telling her that Jeff will write the story, that it's his dead body, but that she'll get her credit. That evening, she is invited out to drinks with the group at the local pub, the Bell, for the first time.

At the pub, Rhiannon gives a karaoke performance which is interrupted by the arrival of a group of police detectives who take over the mic and appeal to the group for any leads that they might have in regards to the recent murder. Rattled, she retreats to the restroom, where she discovers graffiti insulting Ryan Lloyd. Back in the main pub, she spots a a man harassing a bartender and recognises him as the same man who was badgering a nurse when she was trying to get help for her dying father. She makes her excuses, follows the man out of the pub, and spins a story about her dog being missing and how she thinks he might have gone under a dumpster. When the man looks under the dumpster, she pulls out her knife, then stabs him repeatedly, killing him. She then swings by the offices of the real-estate agency Badgertons, which are plastered with pictures of Julia similar to the ad she saw previously. "People I'd love to kill..." she thinks to herself.

"Black Spots in the Garage"[]

Rhiannon revisits the scene of her latest murder, only to discover a cat scavenging the corpse. "All yours, I guess," she declares and leaves. She encounters Craig again, but still unenthused, tells him only that she'll text him. Ready to enact her plan, Rhiannon pays a visit to the local minimarket where she picks up supplies she intends to use in the process of Julia's murder. Her cashier is Donna, a woman wearing a name badge stating that she is "happy to help," but spends her time processing Rhiannon's purchase chatting away on her mobile to her boyfriend. Rhiannon casually asks her where she can find heavy-duty gloves, saying that she's planning to murder her school bully only for Donna, not really listening, to blandly tell her the price of the items she just rung up. While she is distracted, Rhiannon grabs her mobile and dunks it in a cup of water before leaving.

Rhiannon calls up Badgertons, arranging an evening meeting with her on the pretense of having cleaned out the house. Julia instead agrees to tomorrow evening and so she arranges a rendezvous with Craig that evening instead. She then heads into the offices of the Carnsham Gazette, presenting the staff with pastries, an oat milk for Jeff and a posh coffee for Norman. When, however, she looks at the copy of the latest newspaper, she is disgusted to find that the story regarding Ryan Lloyd's bullying of Dave Ferris only has Jeff's name on it and not hers. She confronts him about it, only for him to tell her that if he wants her name on something, he'll lend her his label maker. She then secretly pours Milk of Magnesia in his drink when he steps away from the desk.

Mrs. Lloyd, the father of Ryan, unexpectedly bursts into the office, shouting and calling Rhiannon and AJ liars for saying that they would be nice about Ryan. Jeff, however, unexpectedly speaks up, telling her that if she has an issue it should be with him because it's his story. She complains that people are egging her house, saying that Ryan was a bully. Rhiannon then tells her that he was a bully, that he harassed Dave and never showed any remorse. After the woman leaves, AJ asks her if she's alright and she tells him that people can't do things like that and get away with it. She is later amused to find Jeff ill in the bathroom, Norman blaming it on the woman's rant. AJ invites her for a pint at the pub, but she refuses because of her meeting with Craig, telling him that it's business work.

When, however, Rhiannon meets Craig at the pub, she admits to not having brought his business agreement. She then turns the conversational personal and they end up going back to his place and having sex. The next morning, Rhiannon receives a call. She answers rudely at first, believing it to be from her sister, Seren, but discovers that the call is actually from DI Marina Farrow of the North Berkshire Police. Farrow tells her that they're looking to interview anyone who was in the vicinity of the recent incident on Meadow Lane Lock. Rhiannon, alarmed, agrees to the interview. Once there, she feigns ignorance and manages to swiftly dodge a request for her contact details.

Rhiannon puts a call to Badgertons, telling Julia that she can't do that night, that she's not feeling well. She then returns to the offices of the Carnsham Gazette, only to learn that her second victim has now been found by the police. That evening, she decides to pay a visit to Tommy's Transformations with a bottle of wine for Craig. Once there, however, she unexpectedly discovers him talking with Julia Blenkingsopp. She asks what Julia is doing there and Julia tells her that she's putting in an offer for her home. Stunned, Rhiannon drops the bottle. She then leaves, snatching Julia's mobile on the way out. She gets back into the Tommy's Transformations truck, screaming and pounding the steering wheel. She pulls out the phone, discovering a number of missed texts and calls from Julia's fiancé, Marcus. She gets out of the truck and slashes one of Julia's tires with her switchblade.

Rhiannon waits for Julia and Craig to exit, observing them shaking hands and him giving her a brief kiss. As he drives off, Julia shouts after him, noticing her flat tire, but it is already too late. Rhiannon approaches her instead and Julia asks if she has the keys for her office, saying that she thinks she left her phone in there. Julia asks if she could call Craig, but Rhiannon tells her he never picks up. She suggests an Uber and Rhiannon says that maybe she could call Marcus, but Julia insists on just an Uber. Rhiannon suggests giving her a lift, selling it by pointing out that there's a serial killer on the loose. On the way back, however, she takes Julia to her house instead. Julia wonders why they're there and Rhiannon tells her that she needed to show her something if she's going to buy the place, claiming that she discovered black spots in the garage and that she thinks they might be mold. As they enter, Rhiannon locks the door and pulls out her switchblade.

Rhiannon leads Julia to the garage. There, Rhiannon tells her that she was the one who killed the men on the news, that they were bullies like her and deserved it. She tells her that she's taking away everything she loves. Julia shouts that it's just a house, that she can keep it, but Rhiannon tells her she wants more than that. Julia tells her they can talk about it like adults, but then tosses her coat and tries to dart for it. The two of them end up in a brawl, Julia fending off Rhiannon's knife and knocking it to the floor. She knocks Rhiannon down too, but Rhiannon gets the jump on her and and knocks her over the head with a slab of meat. She stares down at her, breathing deeply, but she gasps and opens her eyes.

"Everybody Loves Julia"[]

Rhiannon visits her garage, where she has Julia tied up, bound and gagged. Switchblade in hand, she removes the gag and Julia shouts that it's a kidnapping, to which Rhiannon replies that it was supposed to be a murder, but that Julia has ruined everything yet again. In response, Julia tells her that she's clearly going through something because of her Dad, suggesting she let her go and call the Samaritans. Rhiannon asks if she's taking the piss, pointing out that she bullied her such that she wore a wig until she's 23. She puts the knife to her throat, telling her that she's done.

Julia tells her that this is just like her, a dramatic kidnap fantasy. She calls her a serial killer and Rhiannon points out that in order to a be serial killer you have to have killed at least three people and so far she's only killed two. Julia calls her weird, saying that she's a loser and that killing her won't change anything. Rhiannon, annoyed, puts her gag back on, telling her that she'll deal with her later. Back inside the main home, she sobs into her coat, declaring that she's not a loser.

Rhiannon visits the garage of Tommy's Transformations, where she spots a CCTV camera outside. She finds Craig inside, telling him that she needs to speak to him now and leading him into a back office. She asks him about his flirting with Julia and trying to sell her house from under her. He tells her that he had no idea about the house. She then demands that he sit, slapping him and asking if he likes Julia. When he starts to reply, she tells him to shut up and starts ravishing him, having wild sex with him even as she remembers the men she killed. Craig is in awe, calling it magical and asks when he can see her again. "When I say you can," she tells him. She dismisses him, then snatches the flash drive with the CCTV footage.

On the bus to work, Rhiannon calls her sister Seren and leaves her a message, asking her just when shew as going to tell her that she agreed an offer with Julia to buy their father's house. Arriving at work, she heads straight for Norman's office. There, she tells him that she has a scoop for him, but she's not telling him what it is unless he gives her the junior reporter position that she wanted. When he hesitates, he points out that he wouldn't have gotten the Ryan story without her, saying that what she has is bigger than a double murder and that the Telegram doesn't have it. Jeff tries to protest, but Norman agrees to her terms, telling her that it's only a trial period and probationary. Rhiannon then tells him that there's a missing woman and she thinks she could be a third murder victim and that the police don't know about it yet. He agrees that she can write the story. Back out in the main office, she accounts AJ, who invites for drinks at the Bell later.

Rhiannon gets to work, texting Lucille, a co-worker of Julia's and a member of her clique. Lucille soon calls her back, saying that nobody has seen Julia and the two of them agree to meet for a talk. Rhiannon sits with her and the other members of the clique, who tell her that this isn't like Julia, that she hasn't posted so much as a meme in 17 hours and that her fiancé , Marcus, said she didn't come home. Rhiannon asks if Julia had any enemies, but they tell her that everybody loves Julia. She then pays a visit to Marcus, who tells her largely the same story, that Julia is well-loved and that he can't believe she would go missing. He tells her that he checked Julia's Find My Friends, but that it was turned off. She asks him for a photo and he gives her one, but she calls it too joyful, saying that she could use something wistful. While he goes to get one, she takes a cup of coffee and spills it on a chair, hiding it with a pillow and steals a bottle of wine and one of Julia's tops.

Rhainnon returns to the offices of the Carnsham Gazette, types up her story and turns it in. Jeff calls it reckless reporting, but Phil hits enter and the story appears on his computer, him telling her that she's a published writer. She then gets a call from Seren, telling her that Julia offered her a great price, that she's the oldest and she needs a deposit. She continues that she couldn't get a hold of Julia, but she's sent a surveyor over to the house. Rhiannon curses and ends the call, then rushes out of the office, telling AJ she'll meet him at the pub. She arrives home just as the surveyor is arriving, tells him that she's not selling, and shouts at him to get off her porch when he doesn't take the hint. She then heads inside and starts getting ready for the visit to the pub in the bathroom upstairs, hearing banging and thumping from Julia in the garage. She goes to her, wearing her top, and tells her that nobody can hear her, that it's one of the perks of living on a dual carriageway and she should have put that in the listing. She continues that she's celebrating because her life isn't shit anymore and drinks some of her wine to taunt her. She continues that she just got a promotion and published an amazing story, a deep-dive into a local real-estate agent who seemed to have it all and then just disappeared and ended up dead. She removes the gag and Julia shouts, saying she's locked in a garage, but Rhiannon tells her not to waste her breath. Julia insults her, telling her she looks like a beauty pageant contest, but she just tells her that she can insult her alls he wants, that she's dying tonight.

Rhiannon heads to the pub, where she amazes AJ by helping him with a trivia question regarding a famous serial killer. Their meeting is then interrupted by the unexpected appearance of Craig, who asks for a couple minutes alone with Rhiannon, that he wants to talk business, but they keep end up having sex. In response, AJ gets up, saying that he has to go. Annoyed, Rhiannon leaves the pub and tries to go after him, but fails to call him back. Returning to the pub, she ends up encountering a very drunk Marcus, who is standing by his car and cursing. She asks him if he's alright, to which he responds by asking if Julia has come back, saying that he always does when her Monzo (a credit card) has run out. He admits that he lied about saying that he was worried and that he never called the police about her disappearance. He says that he knows he'll be back, slurring his words, and she tells him to give him his keys, that she's driving him home.

Back at Marcus and Julia's place, Rhiannon tries to pry Marcus for information, but he flops down on the couch, pulls out his phone and orders spring rolls, then falls asleep. She grabs his phone and studies it, seeing something that causes her to smile. She takes a taxi home and goes to the garage. There, she tells Julia that she's onto her, that she knows her perfect life is fake. She continues that people think she's lovely, but that she knows she's awful and so does Marcus. She reads off one of the messages from his phone: "Why are you always trying to hurt me? I'm going to kill myself, and it will all be your fault." She asks what she did to Marcus, if she eroded his self-worth like she did to her. She says that the awful thing about her is that nobody knows about her until it's too late. In response, Julia says that she's a terrible person, a fake, asking if that's what Rhiannon wants to hear. She then starts sobbing, telling Rhiannon that Marcus is a monster. "I don't know how to get out," she mutters over and over. Rhiannon rises, looking troubled, wondering if this is another ploy, or if Marcus is another bad man like the ones she killed.

"Someone's Been a Naughty Girl"[]

Rhiannon is quickly coming to regret her decision to publicize Julia's disappearance, as suddenly everyone in Carnsham seems to be interested in it and even Donna from the minimarket is now "happy to help." Furthermore, she is resentful of Julia for having an abusive fiancé, complicating everything about her plan. As the two of them talk in the garage, Julia tells Rhiannon that Marcus won't stop looking for her. She replies that she hopes he isn't squeamish because she'll be dead when he finds her. She tells her that she didn't mean what she said about Marcus and Rhiannon asks if this about him being a monster or her deserving it. "'Cause they both sound about right," she comments.

There is a ring at the doorbell and Rhiannon warns Julia that if she does anything to give away her presence there, she'll kill both her and the person at the door. The person at the door turns out to be AJ Pierce. He tells Rhiannon that he was sent by Norman to check up on her, that she hasn't been answering his calls. She replies that the whole point of saying that its "women's problems" is that nobody questions that. He asks what he can tell Norman and she says to tell him that she'll be in tomorrow. There is a crashing noise from inside, but AJ mistakenly believes that she is having a liaison with Craig and leaves.

Back inside, Rhiannon chastises Julia, but she excuses it, saying that it was an accident and she was trying to get food down from the table. She then stabs out at Rhiannon with a pair of scissors, but she dodges and the two tussle, Rhiannon shouting at her to give it up. She asks why she had to come back, that she was doing fine without her. Julia says that her life got better when she came back into it, saying that maybe she should be thanking her. Rhiannon tells her not to push her. She then, however, sees that she is bleeding, having her period.

Rhiannon lets Julia have a bath. When Julia sighs, she tells her that it's her own fault, and she says that she sounds like Marcus. Rhiannon protests that she's nothing like Marcus, but Julia says that she's exactly like him, that he put her through a glass door the last time she tried to leave him. "He hurts me, so do you," she tells her. Rhiannon says that Marcus is a bully and that she protects people from bullying. Julia asks where she fits into all that and Rhiannon admits that she doesn't know, that she's messing everything up. She asks Julia why she bullied her in school and she tells her that she doesn't know, that there wasn't just one reason. She says that her life was bad and so she made her feel the same way, that it made her feel better. Rhiannon refuses to accept this, saying there has to be more, but Julia tells her that she isn't going to find out some monumental truth about herself. She says that she was a teenager and that thinking about it now makes her feel sick.

Julia tells Rhiannon that she doesn't have to be a victim all the time. Rhiannon protests that she made her this way, but Julia calls it a "convenient narrative," one that she chose. Rhiannon gets a text from Craig, saying that the police want to talk to him about Julia's car. She arranges a date with him and Julia ends up helping her with her makeup. She asks Rhiannon to imagine what it could have been like if they had been friends at school. Rhiannon asks if she thinks she could have saved her. "Maybe I could have saved you," she comments and Julia says that she wishes there were a way to save them both.

Rhiannon has dinner with Craig, surprised to discover that he can cook. He tells her that he's worried about talking with the police and she asks him to lie about her having been at Tommy's Transformations the night Julia was there, saying that nobody can know, as she was supposed to be at a work event. "Only if I can get a kiss," he says and so the two of them kiss. Rhiannon returns to work the next day, where Jeff tells her that Marcus has been telling him some things about her, that "someone's been a naughty girl." Norman assigns Rhiannon to check out the search party for Julia that's being assembled and Jeff weasels his way into going with her, along with AJ.

At the community center, Rhiannon is confronted by Marina Farrow, who remains suspicious of Rhiannon. AJ is surprised when Marina mentions that Rhiannon and Julia were never friends and that Julia was, in fact, Rhiannon's high school bully. Later, Marcus confronts Rhiannon, telling her he knows about her vandalising his home and stealing from her. He reveals that he told this all to Jeff and that they're planning to get her fired from the Carnsham Gazette for misconduct. Seeing the confrontation, AJ comes over, asking if he should get the police lady, but Rhiannon brushes him off. She then pursues Marcus into a back alley, pulling out her switchblade. She is spotted by Jeff, who realises that she is the one responsible for the murders. Rhiannon shouts after him, trying to explain things, but he bicycles away in a panic, only to get run over by a lorry. Rhiannon stares, then puts up her hood and walks away.

Rhiannon returns to Julia, telling her that she thinks she knows away out of this for both of them. She tells her that they will lure Marcus somewhere, have Julia tied up there, and frame him for both her kidnapping and the murders. Julia is at first reluctant, but finally agrees, telling her that she has the perfect place: a property that Marcus was working on for her. If they trip the alarm, he'll come running. They do so and enact their plan, but things start to go awry when Julia tells Marcus that she's leaving him. He puts on act, claiming that he truly loves her, while at the same time passively-aggressively blaming her. He cries, telling her not to leave him, and claiming he's going to jump from the rafters. "Don't jump," Julia pleads. "Yeah, don't jump, Marcus," agrees Rhiannon, showing up and pushing him off the rafters, to his death below. As lights flash and sirens sound below, Rhiannon grins. "Julia... Look at me, Julia! Julia, this is what we're gonna say..." she tells her.

"Life 2.0"[]

In the aftermath of Marcus's death, Rhiannon and Julia are both brought to the Carnsham Police Department to be interrogated. Despite heavy pressure from Marina Farrow, the two of them stick to their story: that after Rhiannon accidentally tripped the alarm, Marcus showed up, saying that he was going to do to them what he did to those men. He then said that he was going to jump off the banister, but ended up slipping and falling. As the police found Rhiannon's knife with Marcus's fingerprints on it, they buy the two's story and lead detective Diana St John and Rory Sager let them go over Marina's objectives. Marina protests to St John that Rhiannon isn't who they think she is, but St John tells her that she's just not good enough and orders her to go home.

Outside the jail, Rhiannon is met by Craig, who offers her a ride home. She agrees to it, but asks for a stop along the way. They stop at Julia's house, but she finds that Julia is not there and the placer is surrounded by reporters. She ends up meeting AJ there and they have a brief chat, but it is interrupted by Craig, honking his horn, leading AJ to call him a prick. He agrees he'll see Rhiannon at work. Back at home, Rhiannon finds a package containing her father's ashes. As she sits down at the table to examine it, there is a knocking on the window. It is Julia, who asks Rhiannon to let her in.

Julia explains that there were some seriously aggressive reporters outside her home and she didn't know where else to go. When Rhiannon asks if she's okay, she points out that Rhiannon killed her fiancé. Rhiannon reminds her that Marcus was abusive, telling her that she had to kill him to save her. When they hear a police siren outside, Julia says that she keeps worrying the police are going to turn up, that she can't go to prison. Rhiannon tells her that they won't, that people don't go to prison for doing good things, that society should be thanking them. Julia asks if she really believes this and she tells her that she does, that they did it and the rest of their lives can begin.

The two of them go out clubbing and share a toast, "To freedom!" Rhiannon suggests that Julia should visit the Carnsham Gazette and tell her story. Julia replies that she doesn't want to be a victim, but Rhiannon tells her she isn't, that this is how they take their power back. They two of them fend off a flirtatious man and Rhiannon quips about possibly killing him. When Julia isn't amused, she tells her that she's done with all that, saying that it's a fresh start, "Life 2.0." Julia then asks for her bank card to get some cash so they can get wasted and she gives it to her.

The two of them do indeed get wasted and then end up dancing together. When Craig calls, Rhiannon tells him where they are and he discovers the two of them dancing together, then is shocked to watch the two of them kiss. He ends up joining them in the dancing, however. Later, at sunrise, the three of them are together on a rooftop carpark, one which Rhiannon says was a favorite of her father, Tommy. She decides to release his ashes to the wind, only to have some of them blow back at her, something Julia thinks Tommy would find amusing. She gets a text from AJ and realises that in her wastedness of the previous night, she texted him back and told him she was obsessed with him.

Rhiannon heads back home, where she is shocked to discover the detective Marina Farrow sitting on her couch. Marina asks what she was doing out so late and Rhiannon asks in return what she's doing there in her home. Marina replies by saying that a part of her was wondering if she had lost it, if Rhiannon could have really committed the murders. Rhiannon replies that she has lost it, but Marina continues that she then saw the CCTV footage and realised that the answer was that yes, she could do it. She says that people underestimate Rhiannon, that they don't know what she's capable of. Rhiannon reminds her that her evidence isn't admissible, since she broke into her home. Marina, however, tells her that she doesn't care, that she's going to murder again and she will catch her. She continues that this new life isn't her, that it's fake and people will see this. She says it's just a matter of time before Rhiannon kills again and she will be there.

Following Rhiannon's suggestion, Julia comes with her to the offices of the Carnsham Gazette to give an interview. However, things quickly become uncomfortable. In speaking of her experience, it becomes clear to Rhiannon that Julia is addressing her comments to her. When asked what she would say to her abductor, she comments "You made me feel like an animal, like I was nothing." She ends the interview abruptly and Rhiannon takes out into a hall, asking her if things are good between them. "Of course, babe," she replies, saying that she's a total zombie and just needs food. She tells Rhiannon she's going to pop home and get her stuff.

Rhiannon pays a visit to Craig at Tommy's Transformations. He suggests that the two of them dance again and she tells him abruptly that she thinks they should just be friends. She says that he's sweet, but that this is what's best for her, that it was never really real. When he curses in anger, she says that she didn't think he'd care that much. He asks if there's something going on between her and Julia and she laughs, saying that of course he would go there. He says that she asked him to lie for her. She claims this isn't true, but he points out that it is, that there's something going on. He says that he won't tell anyone, blackmailing her and demanding that she sign his business agreement, that it's a fair offer. Stymied, she does so, telling him that she feels sorry for him, that this is the only way he'll ever be the owner of a business. He tells her that he doesn't think Tommy would like what she's become.

Rhiannon returns home and calls Julia, asking if she still wants to hang out, offering to cook dinner. She sees a missed call from her sister Seren and then there is a ring at the doorbell. It's AJ. He asks if she thought he was Craig and she tells him she broke up with him. "Finally," he comments and the two of them kiss, continue to kiss, then make their way to the bedroom to have sex.

Afterwards, Rhiannon goes to the bathroom, where she texts Julia, asking where she is telling her that AJ is there. She then receives a text informing her of a £474 charge from British Airways. She calls Julia, leaving her a message and asking her if she still has her bank card, or if she's been hacked. She returns to the bedroom, where AJ tells her that he got his first police contact. He brags that they've already started sharing information with him, showing her a picture of the swithcblade knife that was used in the recent murders.

"Serious bit of kit, huh?" comments Rhiannon. This triggers something in AJ's memory, causing him remember making the same comment when he saw her using a knife just like to open mail at the office. He rises, asking if the knife is hers. He then starts going through her drawers, asking where it is and if she's the murderer. "It's your knife, isn't it? ISN'T IT?!" he asks. She tells him that she was grieving and angry, that people dismissed her, but they don't anymore. He asks what she did and she tells him that she stood up to bad people and bullies.

Rhiannon tells AJ that she shouldn't have to fight this hard to be seen and she didn't have to with him. "You murdered those men," he says and she tells him that it's okay, that she has him and doesn't have to kill anymore. He, however, calls her a monster, saying has to go. She begs him not to, telling him that he can't leave her. She then grabs a knife and stabs him in the chest and through the shoulder. As she falls to the ground, she stabs again and again, protesting that she's not a monster, as he dies in her arms. From down the hall, the door opens. Her sister Seren shouts for her, asking if she's there.
